Film & TV, about to become a greater career

I have many things to say about my passing through this career in the U. de Chile... Some are related to the academic responsabilities, workload. some to the Oragnization of the programme itself. Sometimes problems happen beacuse it seems like, institutionally speaking, there has not been a real care about such basic things in order to have the best formation. But with no further more.. Lets discuss Film & TV: the career.

First of all... There is an epic discussion about the relation between this caeer and Journalism.. And the primordial thing, i believe, is the "To be or not to be" relation of Film & TV and the faculty of Arts. Due to it's unquestionable artistic nature, it can be strange to some when there is not a real link between them, meaning that there's no deepening in topics such as History of Art, Esthetic and more practical studies regarding it's methodology, workshoplike.. Instead, we have a fifty/fifty, practical/theoric curriculum that interfeers with the creative side. I'm not saying that they're useless classes, but the workload they generate, many times are incompatible with practical evaluations that require third-party time (actors, assistants, etc.), including having to cook and sell in order to have enough money to make your projects... and that lends me to say that the University does not have a good care in the distribution of presential and unpresential work hours. So it's really easy to suffer, and make others suffer with you.

In other hand, there's a partially good infrastructure that simply does not cover all of us.. so it's eat or be eaten. And the thing does not get less competitive... because the way that film industry works needs you to be competitive, and in Chile, needs to responde to a national identity, a problematic society, a realist view of things. Maybe it's due to the relation with Journalism that experimental projects don't get that good.. but shurely, generation after generation things will change, because it's people is a really special comunity.
