I have many things to say about my passing through this career in the U. de Chile... Some are related to the academic responsabilities, workload. some to the Oragnization of the programme itself. Sometimes problems happen beacuse it seems like, institutionally speaking, there has not been a real care about such basic things in order to have the best formation. But with no further more.. I would like to talk today about something in particular.. a fantasy i've had for a while now. There's one profession that has taken over the culture of one specific milenial country. With their own hands they work, day after day ,tirelessly, until the work is done, and the hungry folk read and judge if it's a masterpiece or a piece of sh*t. I'm refering to the Mangaka, the artists behind japanese manga, those who endure painful weeks of continuous drawing and drawing, hoping to deliver safely their finished work before the deadline arrives.  Japanese society is really hardcore. They work, a lot, day and night, devotedly, non stop. Since school until they're old enough to rest in a peaceful backward drinking sake, surrounded by their tatami little temples. Not being productive, as a student or as a working class citizen is socially punished. When i first watched Spirited Away, i was very young, and some of the fantasies of Miyazaki's film disturbed my childish mind. Like the part when Chihiro's parents transform into pigs... And although it was a traumatizing expierience, the movie just became crazier and crazier as i continued, showing not only a magestic and creepy world based on japanese folklore, but  even some characters that i liked a lot until this day. Every one had special characteristics, desings, quirks that made them so interesting. Some were beautiful, some were gross, and some were scary af. It is precisely the creepiest of them that i love the most and has kept my mind since childhood. An ancient spirit with no identity that eats everything in his path, growing from the greed of some, evolving, always searching for who it is. -BEGIN TRANSMITION- This is something i've been talking for a while... I don't really know what is gonna happen to me in the future in the sense that i haven't decided a concrete career to follow although looking at the big picture, i know i'll dedicate to arts. So thinking about a postgraduate course is something that has crossed my mind many times.  I'm currently studying Film & TV, so next thing i supose i'll be doing is studies in art  outside of Chile maybe, like Germany, Portugal or Argentina, even Korea is an option. And most importantly, i would do it because i think is important for me to improve in technique although is making a painting, taking a picture or making a sculpture, whaterever... and at least for me, studying that discipline works for me to get better and better.  I could maybe do an esthetics course abroad also, at a postgraduate level. But if i choose to get into Visual Arts, i'll be doing a full college career.  Anot...

I've always thought, since i was a little boy, what i wanted to become in the future, and i kept that though: Filmmaker... some things have changed, but one true thing is that i would love to work at the montage of films proffesionally but, actually, being a director has been my childhood fantasy, so i will give everything for that to happen. OH! but wait! recently, my options have become blurry, i cannot say what i want exactly cause many things have kept my atention. should i become a tattooer?a mangaka? an underground musician? a pop one? a conpectual weirdo... I don't know, and most importantly, i thingk i don't wanna know yet... it's gonna be a hell of a ride i want to discover and experiment , even if it takes me to a sh*thole, it would make me happy to at least try. therefore i imagine my future as a happy one, an interesting one, hopfully without regrets. Depending on my options, it could be that i could pass all night long awaken playing guitar at the hipstere...

"The Wind That Shakes the Barley" my personal opinion. Talking about history movies is always difficult. One the one hand, you've got to be able to declare an honest judgement about the technique and style that surrounds the plot without emotional or personal attachments to the context. On the other, that particular context might be enough to say that the movie itself is great, overshadowing it's technical methods by the emotive weight of history. With this in mind, i do believe it's a good movie, but due to a profound and painful plot that portrays the irish social and politic conflict between 1919-1923, and not because of the technical and stylistic management. A flat camera treatment, "not easy to buy" character deaths, the old good accent problem in not-irish actors...
