ABOUT THE ENGLISH PROGRAM

So... i've been taking english classes at university since this semester (which means the second semester of 2017) and from the bottom of my heart i cannot say i like it... but, at least, due to my english skills, i just had to take English IV and not the whole program. Personally, i've found that the best way to learn and improve at my english aptitudes is the one thing i've been doing since i was a little boy: when i enjoy something that is originally in english, i watch/read/listen to it in english, meaning music, movies, series, etc... and so far it has been really helpful. In fact, i've been able to talk to english speakers with total confidence (not at a perfect level but at least i understand them and they understand me). It's not that i take special care at my english, happens that i just like to see and listen to various things that are in english and i learn the languaje in the process in a natural way... Of course, not everyone has that posibillity for a...

Film & TV, about to become a greater career

I have many things to say about my passing through this career in the U. de Chile... Some are related to the academic responsabilities, workload. some to the Oragnization of the programme itself. Sometimes problems happen beacuse it seems like, institutionally speaking, there has not been a real care about such basic things in order to have the best formation. But with no further more.. Due to it's unquestionable artistic nature, it can be strange to some when there is not a real link between them, meaning that there's no deepening in topics such as History of Art, Esthetic and more practical studies regarding it's methodology, workshoplike.. Instead, we have a fifty/fifty, practical/theoric curriculum that inte...

MASOCHISTIC DREAM

I would like to talk today about something in particular.. a fantasy i've had for a while now. There's one profession that has taken over the culture of one specific milenial country. With their own hands they work, day after day ,tirelessly, until the work is done, and the hungry folk read and judge if it's a masterpiece or a piece of sh*t. I'm refering to the Mangaka, the artists behind japanese manga, those who endure painful weeks of continuous drawing and drawing, hoping to deliver safely their finished work before the deadline arrives.  Japanese society is really hardcore. They work, a lot, day and night, devotedly, non stop. Since school until they're old enough to rest in a peaceful backward drinking sake, surrounded by their tatami little temples. Not being productive, as a student or as a working class citizen is socially punished. They're severe people, but have grown to become one of the most complex, advanced and aesthetically beautiful cul...
